After Hours Care

While we understand that the client and pet are most comfortable at your regular vet office, our main concern is the well being of the animal at risk. For this reason we highly recommend after hours emergency clinics.

The reasoning is this; should your animal be in a situation dire enough that warrants calling the office after closing, he or she needs to be watched over closely all night long. Fluid therapy, heating pads, oxygen, IV therapy and medications administered regularly are expected in severely sick or injured animals.

There are several emergency only specialty clinics in the area that are fully staffed all night long with doctors, technicians, and assistants. Should your animal come to our clinic or any other day-staffed clinic, there is no one there to see them through the night should the situation take a turn for the worse.

We care enough about your companion and firmly believe their lives are important enough to send them to emergency clinics if the situation calls for it. By calling Dr. Byrd in case of emergency, the two of you can work out what options are in the best interest of your pet and family.
